Viola's name is pronounced "V-eye-ola", not "V-ee-ola" like the instrument. She is named after her great grandmother on Nancy's side of the family and her middle name comes from her grandmother on Arn's side of the family. We liked it so it stuck.
Hours before birth. Between contractions obviously.. she wasn't smiling much longer after this!
Immediately after birth. They put her on Nancy's tummy and I (Arn) cut the cord. Nancy stunned all the nurses and the doctor by delivering without pain killers. She pushed Viola out on her own and despite a few moments of shear panic and extreme pain, she recouped herself and impressed us all.
Nancy is exhausted, but enjoying the moment as was I. Viola has her eye drops in and is just taking everything in. She took a healthy half hour feed from mama before she sacked out for the next 12 hours.

Daddy likes to rock the baby. She seems to enjoy it too.
